Chapter 169: Prophet Granny
Chapter 169: Prophet Granny
During the day, Lynn had nothing to do.
Vivian’s special training had just begun, and they couldn’t give up halfway the next day, so she left with Catherine.
The two kids also needed to adapt to academy life, so they went along as well. Currently, there’s an activity by the Light Judge in the city, and Helena’s people are secretly protecting them, so Lynn wasn’t worried about their safety.
Xiya, after a period of rest, was already revitalized.
In fact, she wasn’t really hurt; it was just Lynn last night kept saying he wanted to lick her leg until it got fractured, and he even took action.
But it wasn’t that exaggerated. She was just feeling weak because she was too shy, and her performance was already considered good. If it were Vivian, perhaps she’d still be staying in bed right now.
"The elves from the Elf Kingdom’s embassy sent me a message, asking me to surrender, and they could treat me leniently."
With the wife and kids mostly gone, Lynn was just getting ready to take Xiya out for a walk when she received a message from her national embassy.
Only elves carrying the king’s mandate have the qualification to ask a Prince to surrender. After all, even though both the Prince and King are royalty, the King is fundamentally the ruler of the country, while Xiya is ultimately just a younger sibling.
"Let’s go take a look together. I want to see what kind of elves can snatch my wife away. If they really have such skills, even the Demon Dragon Emperor would have to call them mother!"
As Lynn spoke, he and Xiya opted to walk hand in hand on the road rather than take a carriage, showing off to passersby and also letting the elves from the Elf Kingdom’s embassy see his attitude in advance.
Given Lynn’s current fame in Celestial Destiny City, wherever he goes, he’s in the spotlight. Even his gratuitous flaunting mixed with public displays of affection can be understood by the masses. It’s what he deserves; such a good person should enjoy great blessings, and the most beautiful elf should belong to him.
It’s rumored that he has a similar relationship with Her Majesty the Empress. People hope Her Majesty can make an effort to keep Sir Lynn forever in Celestial Destiny Empire, avoiding him being taken to another country by elves or giant dragons.
Bathed in the eager gazes of the people, accompanied by the screams of young women and married ones along the way, Lynn and Xiya arrived at the Elf Kingdom’s embassy in Celestial Destiny Empire.
In this area, there’s not only the Elf Kingdom’s embassy; in fact, most countries with recognizable names have their embassies established in this area, hence why the surrounding vicinity is called the embassy district.
Before arriving at the Elf Kingdom’s embassy, Lynn and the others passed several kingdoms’ embassies, including those of Eagle Empire and Sunset Empire.
If Lynn had exaggeratedly emitted his aura everywhere, this area would have blown up long ago.
During this period, various nations’ ambassadors had requested to meet him more than once, but Lynn rejected them, not wanting to be entangled too deeply in politics, as it isn’t his area of expertise, thus dodging the pitfall.
Today, he came here to handle private matters. If the elves from the Elf Kingdom are sensible, they should obediently tuck their tails and return to their country. If they really intend to covet his wife, then they can’t blame him for being ruthless with flowers...uh, not really, but certainly he’ll give them a scare!
"Let’s go in, we don’t want outsiders to see us."
Upon reaching the destination, Xiya pulled Lynn into the embassy filled with elf-style decor.
In this bustling city street, elves from the Elf Kingdom had built a large cluster of treehouses using branches from their planted Tree of Life. Though they weren’t spiritual, their vitality is high enough and they purify the air, making for comfortable tree houses.
Lynn had traveled to the Elf Kingdom before and knew they liked such living environments; they disliked the human race’s brick and stone structures. The Elf Race is quite picky in this respect. Unless necessary, most elves are unwilling to leave the Elf Forest.
"Xiya, you really came."
As Lynn and Xiya stepped into the embassy doors, before even getting a clear view of the inside, a voice that sounded seasoned echoed from the side.
The young couple turned to see an elderly elf approaching them. Truth be told, Lynn had visited the Elf Kingdom more than once or twice, but this was the first time he saw an elderly elf.
Weren’t elves supposed to be eternal, one that lasts forever? How is it that they also age?
Lynn was a bit puzzled; his understanding from the game background didn’t include this aspect. Had he not encountered it today, he would have thought the Elf Race are a divinely favored race that could remain beautiful till death.
"Prophet Granny, why are you here?"
Originally still holding Lynn’s hand, Xiya instinctively released it upon seeing the arriving elf, swiftly stepping forward to support the elderly elf.
"Besides me, who else could take you away from your lover’s side?"
The elderly elf known as Prophet Granny by Xiya was the previous generation of prophets from the Elf Kingdom. She was already 992 years old, the oldest elf in the entire Elf Race now. Xiya calling her ’Granny’ was an understatement; in fact, several "Great" should be prefixed.
"Uh, really take her away? How would I have the heart to do that..."
Upon hearing the elder elf’s words, Lynn awkwardly standing by didn’t agree, but even if he’s unwilling, asking him to fulfill his previous boast and teach a lesson to the trembling elder...is impossible!
Who could carry that out? I might be a bit crude, but I’m not scum!
"Lynn, don’t rush. Prophet Granny won’t make it difficult for me. She raised every sister of mine; she’s probably just here to see what kind of man I’ve found..."
Xiya supported the frail Prophet Granny, casting a pretty glare at Lynn. His previous act wasn’t very commendable, but if he’d made Granny unhappy, she...would only try to convince Granny, as the man she chose was decided, and she wouldn’t change him even if struck dead.
"Not quite. I’m really here today to take you away..."
Prophet Granny’s faint voice echoed, and Lynn and Xiya almost simultaneously held their breath, awaiting her twist, otherwise, they wouldn’t have a good time.
"But since you’ve already found your mate, then I’ll just borrow you for a while, and return you to the Hero in a few days. If the Hero feels cheated, I could return you two, and the extra elf would count as interest. How does that sound to you?"
Sure enough, the expected twist they awaited came, causing them to breathe a sigh of relief.
"Could it be...I still qualify to participate?"
At this moment, Xiya seemed to have guessed the reason Prophet Granny wanted to borrow her, so she asked with some confusion.
